I have been taking photographs for over forty years, although I have never considered myself a photographer in the traditional sense of the term. The camera has been an essential tool in my work, but my interest has always been in the construction of images.

My visual approach begins with composition, with the relationships between forms, spaces, and visual elements. I photograph with an intention that does not always end with the photograph itself. Sometimes the image stands on its own; at other times, it becomes the starting point for digital manipulation, photomontage, or a mixed-media artwork.

I do not draw a rigid boundary between photography and digital creation. What interests me is the final image and the expressive possibilities I discover throughout the creative process. Photography can be the beginning, the medium, or the outcome of that journey.
