I have never considered myself a photographer, although I have been taking photographs for more than forty years. For me, the camera has always been an indispensable tool within a broader creative process. I do not approach photography as an end in itself, but as raw material for constructing images.

My way of seeing is fundamentally based on composition: framing, the relationship between forms, space, and the final intention of the image. Light, essential to the language of photography, is part of the process, but does not necessarily determine it. I photograph with a purpose: for a graphic piece, an intervention, a visual work, or an image that has yet to be constructed. In that sense, photography is a starting point rather than a destination.
